Shirley Kay Lemon, 74, of Chapel Rd., Gassaway, WV went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 15, 2019 in the early morning.
She was born February 11, 1945 in Gassaway, a daughter of the late Darrell “Thomp” Thompson and Sara Marie Metz Thompson.
Shirley was a homemaker. She loved spending time with her husband, her twin sister, Sherry, and her grandkids. She enjoyed going to church. She also enjoyed dressing up and wearing jewelry when she went out. Every morning she went to the Gassaway City Diner for breakfast.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Daniel Lemon; brothers, Bill Thompson and Chip Thompson; and sister, Pat Whitesel.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Lester “Buddy” Lemon III; son, Lester Chip Lemon; daughters, Beverly McMillion and Samantha McMillion; brothers, Mike Thompson and Fred Thompson; sister, Karen Woods; and twin sister, Sherry Stewart (half of her heart); grandsons, Brent McMillion and Troy McMillion; granddaughters, Miranda Lemon, Charley McMillion and Chelsee McMillion.
Service will be 2 P.M. Monday, March 18, 2019 at Gassaway Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Hart officiating. Interment will be in the Sugar Creek Cemetery, Gassaway.
Visitation will be three hours prior to service at the church.
