Sue Jerome Beverina

Sue Jerome Beverina, 95, of Clarksburg, WV (Wilsonburg), passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at her home. She was born on November 9, 1923 in Philadelphia, PA, a daughter of the late Domenick and Mary (DiSciullo) Jerome.

Sue graduated from Victory High School, Class of 1942. On May 8, 1948 she wed William P. Beverina, a WWII Veteran of Quincy, Mass. They were happily married for nearly 58 years, until his passing on February 24, 2006.

Sue was employed as a typesetter for Patriot Ledger in Quincy for 23 years. She and her late husband retired from their respective jobs and moved to Cape Cod in 1975, where they stayed for 28 years, until moving to their home in Clarksburg. Sue and William traveled extensively during retirement to the Canadian Maritime Provinces and New England, as well as visiting family and friends in Clarksburg. She loved cats, especially her loyal companion “Ruby” for 16 years and most recently her kitten “Bella.”

Sue enjoyed many forms in needle arts and was a member of the Orleans branch of Cape Cod Hospital Aux., Hyannis. Many crafted objects were sold at bazaars to benefit the Cape Cod Hospital. She was also an avid New England Patriots fan and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents and husband Sue was preceded in death by brothers: Anthony, Fred, Domenick, and John Jerome; and a sister, Ann Thomas.

Sue is survived by one brother, James Jerome of Clarksburg; two sisters: Lena Medina (Jesse) of Spelter, and Angelena Smith of Clarksburg; niece Linda Derosa of Bridgeport and nephew James Medina of Shinnston, who both served as her caregivers over the years. Also surviving are many other nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews scattered across the country from New England, south to Georgia, and all the way to the west coast in Washington.

Family and friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home 329 E. Main Street Clarksburg, WV, on Thursday, April 11, 2019 from 4 until 8pm. A Prayer Vigil will begin at 7:30 that evening. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 12, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 10am with Rev. Father Casey Mahone as Celebrant.
